Many people can find that their heroin use can quickly get out of control, due to the addictive nature of the drug.  At Tower Counselling we have been helping people recover from their drug addiction since 2009.

Please answer “yes” or “no” based on your heroin use only. In the past 12 months, have you:


1. Used more heroin than you intended?

2. Experienced a heroin overdose and needed to be revived with Narcan?

3. Used several drugs at once, including heroin?

4. Spent a significant amount of time obtaining heroin, using it or recovering from its effects?

5. Exchanged sex, money or other drugs for heroin?

6. Felt overwhelming urges to use heroin?

7. Attempted to control or stop your heroin use but were unsuccessful?

8. Sold your belongings to buy heroin?

9. Stole of someone to buy heroin?

10. Faced legal troubles (arrest, possession charges, incarceration, etc.) because of your heroin use?

11. Continued to use heroin even when it was physically or psychologically harmful?

12. Needed to take more heroin each time you use it to feel the same effects (have you started to developed a tolerance to heroin)?

13. Ever experienced withdrawal symptoms when you stopped using heroin?

14. Been unable to maintain work, social or familial responsibilities because of your heroin use?


If you have answered ‘Yes’ to any of the above you may have an addiction to heroin.
