At Tower Counselling we have run our successful Anger Management Treatment Programme for over ten years. Clients can either self refer onto the programme or be asked to attend by professional bodies such as courts, solicitors or Social Services.

The Tower Counselling Anger Management Treatment Programme is not simply discussion based treatment programme, but utilises a variety of interactive exercises, process and discussions to make the learning realistic, stimulating and relevant to the client’s own situation. Successful completion of all treatment sessions, assignments and homework is a requirement for successful completion of the programme.

Overview of Anger Management Treatment Programme

The Tower Counselling Anger Management course specifically addresses six dynamic risk factors associated with the issue of anger. These are as follows:

  1. Angry thoughts
  2. Controlling the physical symptoms of anger
  3. Controlling angry behaviours
  4. Problem solving
  5. Communication skills 
  6. And addressing long-term beliefs systems


The Tower Counselling Anger Management programme has the following aims:

  • Help the client identify their anger triggers - things that make them angry.
  • Help the client respond in a non-aggressive way to these triggers before they lose their temper.
  • Learn how to acquire and utilise specific skills for handling their anger triggers.
  • Learn to effectively identify moments when their thought processes are not leading to logical and rational conclusions, and to correct their thinking.
  • Learn how to bring them self back to a state of calm and peace when they feel the anger surging.
  • Learn how to express their feelings and needs assertively in situations that make them feel angry or frustrated. Doing so in a non-aggressive way. Assertiveness has nothing to do with aggressiveness. Assertiveness includes respect for them self, and respect for others.
  • Learning how to redirect their energies and resources into problem solving rather than fury in situations which may trigger anger and frustration.

If you require an end of treatment report to be provided we are able to do this for you.  However, there will be an additional cost.
